Wednesday 10th October

Keynote 1: 
Vivianne Robinson, William Walker Oration

Viviane Robinson
Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Auckland, New Zealand
As an evaluator of New Zealand's first major school improvement initiative, Viviane Robinson has worked collaboratively with teachers, community leaders, and policy makers to make the initiative a national leader in the use of teacher-controlled achievement data to improve teaching and learning. She is also Director of the graduate programme in educational management and Academic Director of the Firsttime Principals Programme - New Zealand's national induction program for school principals. 
NOTE: The annual William Walker Oration is dedicated to the memory of WG (Bill) Walker, who died suddenly on 25 July 1991 at the age of 62. Professor Walker taught and carried out research in several Australian and overseas universities and was founding editor of The Journal of Educational Administration and The Practising Manager and author of numerous books and articles on educational management.

Keynote 2: 
Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs

President of Curriculum Designers, Inc.
Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs has consulted with schools around the world on issues and practices pertaining to curriculum reform, strategic planning, and instructional strategies to encourage critical thinking. She is the author of Mapping the Big Picture: Integrating Curriculum and Assessment K-12, published by ASCD. 

Thursday 11th October

Keynote 3: 
Dr. Peter Senge

Founding Chairperson of SoL and senior lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Via video link, you will hear from the author of The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization. Dr. Senge has lectured extensively throughout the world, translating the abstract ideas of systems theory into tools for better understanding
of economic and organizational change. The Journal of Business Strategy (September/October 1999) named Dr. Senge as one of the 24 people who have had the greatest influence on business strategy over the last 100 years

Keynote 4: 
John Connell

Education Business Development Manager, Cisco Systems
John Connell is currently a learning futures strategist in Cisco's Emerging Markets. He was previously Director of the Scottish Schools Digital Network (SSDN), an ambitious programme of development in ICT for Scottish education, bringing together a national broadband interconnect, a national content delivery infrastructure and a national intranet for teaching and learning.

Andy Hargreaves

Thomas More Brennan Chair in Education in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College

Michael Fullan

Professor of Policy Studies at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto

Join Professors Andy Hargreaves and Michael Fullan as they discuss and debate the Long and Short of Educational Change. Both Andy Hargreaves and Michael Fullan have written numerous books on culture, change, and leadership in education and are recognized as international authorities on educational reform. Both speakers will return the following afternoon for the Closing Session to respond to audience questions and to challenge all to have the courage to see freshly!

Michael Furdyk has turned his interest in technology into a series of successful online companies, including MyDesktop.com, BuyBuddy.com, and TakingITGlobal.org, a global online community for young people that has engaged hundreds of thousands of youth in over 200 countries and territories.
